The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has officially declared 2025 as the "Year of AI," reinforcing its commitment to leading India’s higher education system into a digitally empowered future.


This declaration is a strategic move to nurture a new generation of educators and learners who are not just technology users but creators of AI-powered solutions to global challenges.


AI in Education: A Paradigm Shift


AI has the potential to personalise learning, automate assessments, and support data-driven teaching strategies. By analysing student behaviour and adapting content, AI can ensure inclusive and engaging education for all. From adaptive learning platforms to smart tutoring systems, AICTE envisions an AI-enhanced educational experience accessible across India, regardless of location or background.

To realise this vision, AICTE has partnered with leading EdTech organisations:


Edunet Foundation: Offers faculty development, skill-building, internships, and industry-recognised training since 2022.


Juniper Networks: Supports 500 AI-Driven Campus Centres of Excellence to upgrade institutional infrastructure, with EduSkills as a knowledge partner.


Wadhwani Foundation: Focuses on entrepreneurship through Innovation Hubs and IDE Bootcamps in emerging fields like AI, Cybersecurity, and Health Tech.


EduSkill: Provides digital internships and industry-aligned courses to AICTE students through global tech collaborations.


Implementing AI in Classrooms and Beyond


Through the NEAT initiative, over 100 affordable EdTech tools have been adopted in classrooms. AICTE has also set up IDEA Labs nationwide to encourage hands-on innovation and design thinking in AI-related fields.
